This means they establish easily, but once established, can also be difficult to get rid of AND crowd out native species.

While I will agree that there are harvestable products from the prickly pear (the jelly from the fruits is FABULOUS!!!), and could generate income for local peoples, control of plantings is important such that native biodiversity does not suffer. Perhaps there is another income- and food-generating solution that is more in line with the local biology?Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06841401956111498745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18220453.post-70904699080857299192012-01-02T01:39:46.596+00:002012-01-02T01:39:46.596+00:00Yeah, Anon, always best to ignore the science and ...Yeah, Anon, always best to ignore the science and respond to tentative comments with something highly aggressive and attacking.Jed Carosaarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10775889983099808362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18220453.post-86809807398601616502011-12-12T10:16:39.708+00:002011-12-12T10:16:39.708+00:00@Abdul
