Contemporary and Traditional Moroccan Dance - A Sufi Experience


For anyone interested Sufism and Moroccan dance, there is an internship available during the Fez Festival of Sufi Culture in 2015

The programme, run by Nadia Makhlouf, will include an encounter and immersion with the Hamadcha Sufi Brotherhood as well as discussions with Sufi intellectual, Faouzi Skali.

Programme leader, Nadia Makhlouf, is dance teacher and choreographer with a deep understanding of ethnomusicology.


Nadia comes from a family of musicians in Rabat, and having grown up in a musical environment, she has practiced Arabic dance since childhood. Gradually, she has ventured into several types of dances, both modern and traditional.

Currently, she teaches workshops ethnomusicology in Geneva and performed in several productions.

Dates for the programme are from the 18th to 25th of April 2015
