A recent art workshop at the Medina Children's Library was a magical experience for local Fez children. Artist and designer Carmelo Tedeschi offered to run the workshop to help decorate the new library, and organisers welcomed the opportunity. The finished stars are suspended from the ceiling
"I based the idea of the stars on the classic children's book, The Little Prince," said Carmelo Tedeschi.
In the book, author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry writes,
“All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it.”
The Medina Children's Library is working towards improving the lives of Fez children, and the adults they will grow into, by encouraging them to develop a love of reading. More than 500 books are available in Arabic, French and English.
The official Open Day will be held on Saturday February 28, between 10 AM and 5 PM.
The Medina Children's Library is at 41 Zkak Rouah, off the Ta'laa Sghira, Fes Medina.
