Four deaths in Moroccan floods

Four people were drowned on Saturday in the northeastern region of Nador. This was as a result of the flooding caused by several days of heavy rain.

Three siblings, two girls and a boy (16), living in Aïn Zohra, 90 Kms west of Nador, died due to the flooding of the Mrah river. At the same time a young girl living in the city of Zaio (40 kms east of Nador) was washed away, on Saturday evening, by flood waters and died in a bypass channel meant to protect Nador against floods.

The boy's body was recovered on Saturday and sent to the Hassani hospital's morgue, while his sisters' bodies were recovered later in two locations known as Oued Chammar and Oued Lahrarcha (respectively 20 and 25 kms away) and sent to the same mortuary.
