Socorra Camposanto will perform a free concert this Friday, November 20th at 7pm at the ALIF Riad 6 Derb Drissi, Batha, Fes Medina
"I write songs, I sing songs but most of all I have fun with music" |
Socorra is a blues/folk singer-songwriter from the San Francisco Bay Area. She is heavily influenced by Elvis Presley, Carole King, Motown and the folk scene of 1960s Greenwich Village in New York.
She spent much of her college years singing at open mic nights and performing at various campus events.
After college she went off to the Peace Corps in Morocco from 2010-2012 where she explored using music as a way of connecting with her community. She performed around the country from big cities to small villages and taught a music club. She is now working on an EP expected out in 2016.
Socorra has now returned to Morocco and this Fez performance is the final of seven concerts at American Language Centres around the country.
This concert, organised by the ALC-ALIF Music Club, is free and open to the public.
