Foreign nationals have been scrambling today looking for flights out of the country. The few flights taking off appear to have been fully booked. At the same time there are known to be a number of small tour groups enjoying the Sahara dunes, oblivious to the fact that they may well now have to remain in Morocco for several weeks.
The Ministry says that the lock-down procedure is in line with the preventive measures against the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Morocco reached 28 as of Sunday, March 15, tripling since Friday, March 13.
Health officials confirmed nine new cases on March 14 and an additional 10 the next day.
Morocco’s government and health authorities still consider the COVID-19 outbreak in the country to be in its first phase, as the majority of patients became infected abroad.

Stay safe Sandy and Suzzana. I left Fez for a trip to UK and am now stuck here. I have children in New Zealand and Kenya who are trying to get back to UK. These are crazy times but we have to "stay in the moment"
