Marrakech-London - EasyJet's African first.
The Marrakech-London link, EasyJet's first in an African and Arab country, is part of the Open Skies agreement signed by Morocco to raise the number of tourist.
"Today is an exciting day for EasyJet, as the first airline to operate to Morocco under the new open skies agreement, we continue to seize opportunities and lead the industry," stressed David Osborne an official in EasyJet.
The View from Fez was told that today's first flight carried around 140 passngers.
The Luton-based carrier had said it would fly to Marrakech, Istanbul and Croatia's third largest city Rijeka, starting from this summer.
