Sufi Ceremony in Fez

Riad Zany in the Fez Medina is to be the venue for a very special Sufi ceremony on March 25.

The Hamadcha Brotherhood will perform a three hour blessing ceremony for the house which will start with a procession through the neighbourhood streets before arriving at Riad Zany. The event has been made possible by a very special benefactor who is giving it to us as a gift, for which we are extremely thankful.

It is expected that there will be ten musicians and up to fifty guests will be present. Permission has been given to record the music and film the event. At this stage we are still trying to find a person to record the ceremony on film.

There are still some invitations available and so if you would like to attend, please email us at fes.riad@gmail.com.

The Hamadcha are members of a religious brotherhood that traces its spiritual heritage back to two late 17th and early 18th century saints. Over the years they have achieved a certain notoriety for their extreme behaviour in a trance state.
