Is Madeleine McCann in Morocco?

See latest update here: Madeleine McCann in Morocco- Update

A missing child may be in Morocco according to a holidaymaker who is convinced she spotted Madeleine in Morocco last week - and is now sick with regret because she did not know there was a girl missing and so she did not alert police there.

"I saw her in Marrakech"- Marie Olli

Marie Olli said a 'sad' blonde girl was standing on her own in a petrol station in Marrakech, and then a man came over and she asked him: "Can I see mummy soon?"

Mrs Olli, who is Norwegian and lives on the Costa del Sol, said she did not know about Madeleine on May 9, while she and her British husband were on holiday.

"I am very sure it was Madeleine. I walked into the petrol station and saw the little girl standing there. She looked sad. When the man saw me looking at them he turned away, so I couldn't see his face.

"It's very strange. If it was me with a child there, I would hold their hand, but this man was a metre away from her

Portuguese cops have named Briton Robert Murat as their only suspect in the disappearance.

Detectives there have raised doubts about his alibi - that he was having dinner with his elderly mother Jenny on the night Madeleine vanished.

His telephone records for the night of Thursday May 3 are said to show a series of calls starting at 11.40pm between him and Russian Sergey Malinka, who has been quizzed by police as a witness. Murat and Malinka both deny involvement.
Madeleine McCann is missing.

I don't know how extensive coverage is over there, but please, please do all you can to let people know. Here in the UK we're following the case so much and hoping she will be safely back with her family.

If you have her or you know who does do the right thing and give her back to her family where she belongs.

No matter how slow the journey, the only way to reach the destination is to keep going.

My prayers for strength are with Kate and Gerry in their search to bring Madeleine back home.

Of course it isnt Madeline, Its all a conspiracy by the Parents

The woman carrying the child is a Berber. Don't know what this? Don't know how common are Moroccan children with blond hair? Then why post garbage?

BTW there is not yet a single shred of evidence that Madeleine was kidnapped.

I AM NOT A RELIGOUS PERSON BUT IF THERE IS A GOD OUT THERE I HOPE HE IS LOOKING OVER LITTLE MADDIE.
MY SON IS 6 YEARS OLD AND WAS BORN ON THE 04.05.01 AND I COULD NOT BARE THE THOUGHT OF EVER BEING WITHOUT HIM.
WE ALL DO THINGS THAT WE LATER REGRET AND IM SURE THE MCCANS FEEL SUCH REGRET FOR LEAVING MADDIE ALONE WITH HER HER BROTHER AND SISTER BUT THAT DOESNT GIVE NO ONE THE RIGHT TO TAKE SUCH A BEAUTIFULL CHILD OUT OF THE SAFETY OF HER APARTMENT IN THE NIGHT.
MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH THE MCCAN FAMILY AND MY HOPES AND DREAMS ARE OF MADDIE BEING FOUND SAFE AND WELL IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

The McCanns would not have been too aware of the desperate nature of nearby Morocco compared to the easy going life of the U.K. If they did I am sure they would have reconsidered leaving the children where they did. In hindsight, they will be regretting their lack of foresight. But, lets not miss the main goal here, Madeline is very possibly out there and from the description of the Moroccan born lady who very well may have saw her, bruised, we should put all else to the back of our minds until a search of the major region is conducted by the relevant experts, (not necessarily the authorities), and remember any time wasted in the search for a girl whom may be getting serious abuse, would not be acceptible. I am not religious, so I can't turn to a God and pray. I believe in something much more real, with much power to achieve in our existence. I believe in people, I believe in the impossible which has been pulled off by everyday people. Their love and passion and creativity is very real. There are a lot more everyday people in the world than there are police, army or whatever authorities. If the people wanted they could do anything, they find this girl quicker if they wanted. I cannot pray to people, but, I can tell them I love them and care about them and like millions around the world would love to see this one child returned. Can anyone holding this child against their will see the pain and suffering being caused to so many. This one child thrust into the spotlight is now an emblem of hope for so many, give us all just this one and watch the love in people who will more than appreciate her return. Yors sincerely B.McG.

We have only one request,if that child is still alive out there, return her to her parents. Claim whatever money you want, I am sure the whole world will contribute to pay for the freedom and return of Maddie...

May God help Maddie and make the kidnapper realise that it is never too late to repent...

I think I speak for the vast majority of people in Britain and practically everyone in Pria De Luz when I say... Its time we let the little girl go. The search has had huge resources poured into it and nothing has been turned up. My thoughs go out to the family of the girl, but there really is nothing more anyone can do. As hard as it may seem, its time to move on.

Never, ever give up. NEVER give up on a missing child.
Thank you for posting this article on your blog. I believe one day she will be found and people like you will hav had a good hand in keeping her story alive and hope as well. Someone out there will see fit to bring their suspicions or knowledge of her whereabouts to the McCann investigators and this will lead the way. Perhaps this path is already underway. Again, thank you for the article! :)

It is in the eyes of the one who stole the child that seeks help by committing a act of terror. The child with or without thier parents will get the last say through God. You the one who has hate in your sole will be delivered to the one you evidently seek. God is with the child and there is nothing you can do about it. Mothers of the earth get strong for one another and look for another mothers missing child. mothers are responsible for the children even if they are not yours. T.U.

Have the detectives done any kind of extensive search for her in Morocco or Western Sahara ? It seems to be the most obvious place and she could possibly be drugged and being used as a sex slave under guard. Perhaps this needs to be reinvestigated.
