According to ONDA - the Moroccan Airport Authority - Moroccan airports served some 32,935 flights during the first quarter of 2007, compared to 29,482 in the same period of 2006.
Company figures show that over 2.6Mn of passengers transited through Moroccan airports and 17.28 tons of goods were shipped up to March 2007.
Casablanca's Mohammed V airport tops the performance list with 15,734 flights, over 1.1Mn of passengers and 15,683 tons of goods carried.
The Marrakech-Al Manara Airport comes second with 7,538 flights, 733,510 passengers and 19,383 tons of shipped goods, followed by the Agadir-Al Massira airport with 3,580 flights, 360,227 passengers and 287,61 tons of goods.
Morocco has worked out an ambitious strategy, dubbed "Vision 2010", which aspires to attract 10 million tourists by 2010. This Vision aims, among other things, at diversifying the tourism product and developing training and partnership in the air transport and other tourism-related fields.
