More flights to Morocco

Yet another airline has announced new routes into Morocco. Belgian charter airline Jetairfly will launch a new route Brussels-Oujda on 6 October 2007. This new North African destination will come in addition to existing destinations Agadir, Casablanca, Marrakech, Nador and Tangiers.

As we reported a couple of days ago, Ryanair has decided to operate flights from Marseille to Marrakech and Fes from 30 October. The airline will operate three flights per week between Marseilles and the Moroccan cities, with the aim of carrying 80,000 passengers a year for a turnover of 2.6 million euros.

Under a partnership agreement sign with Morocco last year, the Irish company plans to operate 70 weekly flights along the route within the next five years.

This week we also reported that the Spanish air company Spanair has launched three weekly flights linking Casablanca to Madrid. The route, operational since last June, is part of the Spanair's expansion plan to increase its flights towards international destinations and meet the increasing demand in the business class travel.
