The Weather in Fez?

Today our weather guru, Lumen, came across a website www.sunshineestates.net that is planning to list properties in Fez (though it has none so far). On its information page about Fez, it waxes lyrical about the ambient temperatures to be found ‘neath fair Mount Zalagh ... in summer it rises to 24ºC (75ºF) with winter temperatures rarely dropping below 9ºC (48ºF).

Ho hum. Here sits Lumen at 9.45pm with the temperature over 30ºC and it’s well over 40ºC during the day. This is no freak show either – temperatures are usually this high at this time of year, and it will probably get hotter in August.

Did "sunshine estates" think they would fool anyone? Was this a ploy so that potential customers don’t get put off by the hot weather, or a rather stupid mistake?

Lumen can’t even think about the winter temperatures mentioned – it’s all a blur in her state of advanced wilt.

But wait ... there’s lightning ... and thunder ... and at last, big fat rain drops splatter into the courtyard. Lumen dashes outside to stand in the rain ...

(Just for the record and to assist Lumen's heat-impaired memory - in winter it snows on Jebel Zalagh and sometimes in the Medina and minus 3 degrees Celsius is not uncommon. Some days it struggles to get as high as 14 degrees. Then there is the wind... Editor.)
