Fez abuzz!

Central Fez

Fez is abuzz with tourists, journalists and musicians as the 14th Sacred Music Festival gets under way. The press office has been experiencing a constant stream of visitors picking up press passes and information. The remarkably efficient staff have been handling hundreds of enquiries and remain unflappable and smiling.

The city itself is all dressed up with flags and lights everywhere, a truly beautiful sight. After several weeks of cool weather and rain, the sun is now shining and the sky an absolutely cloudless blue.

In the Medina, the tourists and festival-goers are everywhere, shopping and sightseeing before the big opening night tonight at Bab Makina, where Jessye Norman will be performing Sacred Songs with the Lyric Orchestra from Avignon, Provence.
