Sanaa Benhama wins 2nd gold at Paralympics
Moroccan athlete Sanaa Benhama on Saturday won the women's 200m event (T13 category) to secure her and Morocco's second gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.
Benhama, 26, ran the 200 meters in 24.89 outperforming French Nantenin Keita (25.51) and Greece Alexandra Dimoglou (25.59).
The Moroccan athlete had won, on Friday, the women's 400m event (T13 category), in 55.56, that is a Paralympic record of the distance.
It is the fourth medal for Morocco in the Paralympic Games after Youssef Benbrahim's silver medal in the 5,000m event (T13 category) with a time of 14:50.32, and Najat El Garaa's bronze medal in the women’s discus event (category F40) with a throw of 26.86 meters.
