Morocco appoints five new women ambassadors
On Friday King Mohammed VI appointed a number of new ambassadors, including five women. The new appointments show a broad-based diplomatic movement with the appointees coming not only from the diplomatic corps, but also from the different political parties, civil society and academia.
Among the important appointments made by the King were:
- Youssef Amrani Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
- Omar Hilale : Ambassador permanent representative of Morocco to the UN office at Geneva.
- Mohamed Loulichki : Ambassador permanent representative of Morocco to the United Nations in New York.
The five new female ambassadors:
- Mrs. Mina Tounsi : Ambassador to Finland.
- Mrs. Aziza Limame : Ambassador to Bulgaria.
- Mrs Karima Benyaich : Ambassador to Portugal.
- Mrs. Raja Ghannam : Ambassador to Denmark.
- Mrs. Oumama Aouad Laarech: Ambassador to Peru.
