A close shave in the Fez Medina!

Why should you get to know this man in Fez?

If you want to get a shave or haircut, then this is your man. Getting a haircut in a foreign land, especially with the inability to communicate other than in mime, can be a daunting prospect. However, we have discovered a man who knows his craft, is fun to spend time with and doesn't charge like a wounded bull! And then there is an added advantage - he his great with a razor!

Absellam has a small hairdressing salon next to Thami's Restaurant, near the Bab Bou Jeloud. His clientèle are mostly male, but he has been known to cut women's hair as well. If you ever wondered what its like to have an old-fashioned haircut, don't pass up the chance to pay a visit to Absellam.

Since there's no specific Contact section on the blog, let me tell you it's been a pleasure reading your posts. I've subscribed a couple of months ago to the blog's feed and let me tell you how much i appreciate all the efforts you guys make to showcase the beauty of the Medina. I am a young moroccan living in Casablanca whose ancestry from both sides goes back to Fes. Last week-end i had the opportunity to spend an afternoon in the Medina and it was one of the most beautiful strolls i've ever taken in my life, walking down all the way from Bab Boujloud to R'sif. Hopefully next time i'll pay a visit to the Clock Café.

He´s really a five stars barber!
When I stay in Fez, I visit him every two days for a shave. Thats enough, cause he do it well! Always full of humor, but never obstrusive.
