Getting plastered! Moroccan Plaster student in Fez

Jeremy Magnin is an unusual young Frenchman. With a degree in Art History he has embarked on a really interesting journey into the world of Moroccan plaster techniques. After art school Jeremy worked in Switzerland with a Moroccan and one thing leading to the other, as it does, he ended up in Morocco.

Jeremy @ Cafe Clock

With a strong desire to learn everything he could about Moroccan plastering - plaster carving, tadlakt, medluk... the works - he contacted a master craftsman who, for some reason, failed to make an appearance. Undeterred, Jeremy has scored a job at Cafe Clock where he is busy at work on the door surrounds to the new extensions to the cafe.

The View from Fez will keep an eye on his progress and report back when the first carving is completed. In the meantime, drop into the clock and say "bonjour" to Jeremy.
