Princess Lalla Khadija's 3rd birthday
On Sunday the Royal family celebrated the third birthday of princess Lalla Khadija. Lalla Khadija is the second child of the sovereign and sister of Crown prince Moulay El Hassan who was born in May 2003.
According to the local media, the anniversary has been an occasion for Moroccan society to reassert its loyalty to king Mohammed VI and celebrate February 28, 2007, when Lalla Khadija was born.
The View from Fez joins with the Moroccan people in wishing the princess a very happy birthday!

Yawn! I hate to sound overly critical, unappreciative or dismissive...
But do other readers feel like me? Sometimes the view from Fez reads like the press office for the Rabat Palace.
I mean if I wanted to know the colour of the king's socks today, I'd read Le Matin or some of the other Palace mags.
If I go online to read about Morocco, I'm not in the least bit intrested in this kind of material.
LOL! Sorry, but you are in the minority. The most viewed stories on a regular basis are (we find this hard too!) caftans, recipes and the royal family. We get over a thousand searches a month for royal family news. There are around 2200 stories on The View from Fez and any analysis will show we do not cater to that taste. 55 stories mention the royal family and 7 on caftans. We suggest you just skip over the things you don't enjoy.... just like the rest of us do.
Oh poor yawning Anonymous! Some people just like to have a gripe, poor dear. My husband is the same, he hates stories on couscous making!
I appreciate the broad spectrum of stories on this site. Please don't cut back your coverage because of one vacuous comment. Thankfully other readers do not feel like your respondent.
lizabeth is correct. Anonymous doesn't have to read this story. We Moroccans love our king and his little daughter. Have you more photos of this princess?
Anonymous, if you hate to sound overly critical, unappreciative or dismissive... just try a little restraint.
On a different note, I would love a story on children in the Medina. What things are there for visiting kids? We have two young ones (3 & 5) and would love to bring them on our next trip. It will be our third.
Keep up the great work and congratulations on the blog wim. I found you through the Lonely Planet site but am glad I have found the "real place".
I guess the new Princess will only have a birthday every four years being born on the 28th Feb?. She will be forever young.
Welcome to the world Princess. You look very cute
OK OK! If you can't beat 'em join 'em. I'm the anonymous griper!
The king is sporting a fab shirt in that photo and yes his daughter is really cute. Happy birthday princess!
Call me pedantic Piggy but Feb 28 is not a leap year day, it's Feb 29!
I love couscous making too by the way.
OK, I'm take my vacuous comments elsewhere! Gripe, gripe, gripe!
LOL~! Pete, welcome on board. Your comments always welcome, even if some people don't agree with them!
Silly me of course its not a leap year. A senior moment forgive me
