Fez Festival Film Programme: update

Film screenings at the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music will take place at 09h00 and at 13h00 on 8 and 9 June at the Jnan Palace Hotel in the new city.

Tuesday 8 June:
The film La Nouba d'or et de Lumiere (2007) by Moroccan film-maker Izza Genini features the melodies that once resounded in the mansions of Cordoba and Seville, and that are now heard in Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Tangier or Ksar El-Kebir.

With the most eminent orchestras of Moroccan music, the film shows how all generations, classes and religions enjoy the music of the Nouba.

Wednesday 9 June: Out of Cordoba: Averroes and Maimonides in their time and ours
Jacob Bender, the creator of Out of Cordoba, is a video producer, photographer, graphic designer, writer and educator. His is an important voice in the Jewish American community, fighting for a just solution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. In this film, Bender takes a look at two great Jewish philosophers who lived and worked in Fez.
