Friday's events at the Fes Festival


10h00 JNAN PALACE HOTEL: An unprogrammed screening of the film Esprit de Fes (52 minutes) by Clemence Boussirat. Part of the Paths, Voices and Music of the World collection, this documentary witnesses the human experience in music, song and dance of various traditions and cultures.

16h00 BATHA MUSEUM: Doudou Ndiaye Rose and his Ensemble of sabar drums with the Saint Joseph of Medina Chorale, directed by Ambouras (Senegal).

20h30 BAB AL MAKINA Fareed Ayyaz & Party and the great sama'a voices of Morocco, accompanied by the Arabo-Andalou Orchestra of Fez directed by Mohammed Briouel. This concert is a premiere of a melange of Andalous music, Sufi chants and Pakistani qawwali singing.

22h00 BAB BOUJLOUD: Issawi Night, with Abdellah el Yaacoubi of Fez, Abdellatif Rzini of Fez, Toufik el Hilai of Rabat, Abdessamad Hadaf of Meknes and Hicham Mrabet of Fez (with coordination by the Hamadcha master Abderrahim Marrakchi). The Issawis are a Sufi group who are very popular across Morocco.

23h00 DAR TAZI: Sufi Night: Al Ouazzania Brotherhood of Fez, directed by Omar Ouazzani.
