Today @ the Fes Festival- Saturday June 4


Today Morocco's Fez Festival of World Sacred Music is in full swing, from early morning until the wee hours. At 9am the Fes Forum gets underway at the Batha Museum with a discussion of "Which wisdoms for our time?" Speakers will explore and debate sources of art, thought, and spirituality.

Elena Ledda's Quintet and Polyphonic Chorus will perform at the same venue at 4pm before Maria Bethania, from Bahia, Brazil, brings her history of popular Brazilian song and "sensual fervor" to Bab al-Makina at 8:30.


Bab Boujloud hosts Saida Fikri, (pictured above)a Moroccan popular singer, in a free concert at 10pm before the first of the Festival's Sufi Nights begins at 11pm in Dar Tazi with the Harakiyya Brotherhood from Safi. See you there.
