Morocco's Rapid Response Squad - Dial 19

Morocco now has a dedicated emergency number that will connect with the country's mobile rapid response squad.  Unfortunately, at the moment it is only operational in Rabat

The development was announced yesterday (Monday September 14) by Abdelatif Hammouchi, head of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN)

To call emergency police in the region of Rabat, dial the number 19.

The DGNS has set up 40 telephone lines and 24 officers have undergone training by security experts to respond quickly and effectively 24 hours a day and seven days a week to calls from citizens.

This service is permanently connected to mobile units operating on the ground.  This new brigade, consisting of 90 riders, including ten women has been named the "mobile unit emergency police".

A control room and operations coordination have already been set up at the main police headquarters in Rabat. It is planned to extend the service to the entire kingdom.
