New US Consul General in Casablanca


Jennifer Rasamimanana has just taken office as Consul General of the United States in Casablanca. She is replacing Nicole Theriot, who completed her diplomatic mission to Morocco on 5 May


An American diplomat since 1999, Jennifer Rasamimanana has served in the political, consular, economic and public sectors in France, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Tunisia, Syria and Togo.

During her mission to Washington, she served in the Cabinet of State Secretaries with Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice. She also worked as a supervisor of the diplomatic competition.

Between 2010 and 2012, she was Arabic spokesman for the State Department, two years during which she led the communication with Arabic-speaking audiences from Oman to Morocco.  In 2012, she was "diplomat in residence" and professor at Sciences Po Paris.
