One of the things that puts many people off buying a riad or dar in Morocco is the hassle of renovating. Some friends of The View from Fez, recently complete a year-long marathon and now have a beautiful house ready for sale.
If you have wanted your own wonderful palace, fit for all the dreams of One Thousand and one Nights - then this is it!
This beautifully restored dar is in the throbbing heart of the Medina, yet in its own small alley. The location is superb and the house a jewel.
If you would like to buy this gem - it is for sale for somewhere between 150,000 and 180,000 Euro - you will find it a real bargain as there is no work to do - just pleasure to be enjoyed.
The terrace has a panoramic view of the Medina of Fez and has been delightfully restored as have the kitchens and all three bathrooms.
If you are interested, email The View From Fez at: fes.riad@gmail.com We suspect this house is too good to last long once it is put on the market, so if you are interested - act now!
Please note! The View from Fez has no financial interest in this house, purely the pleasure of having lived in it for a week and so feel we can recommend it without reserve.

Omigod - it is a thing of rare & exquisite beauty. Will you take a cheque?
Naam! It is truly beautiful and so close to the best parts of Fez.
OH yes! I want it.And it is not over-priced. What a beauty!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Rupert,
The price seems very fair, considering the amount of fine detailed work that has been done. There are a lot of much more expensive riads and dars that have had very poor quality work done on them. This work is all by traditional techniques and with traditional materials.
yes! may I have three please
Salam Fionn - Sadly, there is only one. But once you purchase it, I am sure we can find two more, but they won't be renovated in such a great way.
Why are there so few renovated dars for sale. I looked for two weeks and only saw ones that needed months of work.
This looks superb and I hope it is still for sale when I return in October.
Thank you for letting us see such a wonderful house.
Hi Sharon,
A lot of people start off by thinking they will enjoy renovating themselves, but unless you actually stay on site all the time, expensive mistakes can happen.
There are also builders who charge by the metre and you can end up paying two or three times the normal rate. DO NOT PAY BY THE METRE!
And do not let anyone tell you you have to "gut the house back to the bricks" - it is simply a way of making you pay a lot more.
salam

One of the sweetest houses I have seen in Fez. Will be over in September. I hope it iis still for sale then!
Salam
Thank you all for your kind comments and thanks to Samir for posting our house on his site.
To answer the last comment the house is 'all blue' because that's how it was originally. None of the original zelij has been replaced.
Thank you again. If you would like to see more information and pictures of this house have a look at our two sites. www.fesmorocco.com and fezmorocco.blogspot.com.
Stig and Alfie
Salam Stig & Alfie!
As I said, our pleasure. Your house is a treasure.
At that price you must have been smoking something illegal!
Cool house but a bit "museum-like" and the asking price is crazy. Maybe 100 E, but not more.
Hi I want to see some photos of the property please. Thanks.
