According to the latest film buzz from Agadir, the "C" brothers are about to start work on a puppet version of Aladdin.
Our spies tell us that the Agadir based C Brothers have started production on what will be a world first - a Berber-language puppet animated film. The director is a newcomer - Ebhheim Abdeni.
An insider tells us that the film follows a little boy who challenges forest djinns to win a book of knowledge. If you aren't a Berber speaker, you can relax in the knowledge that an Arabic-dubbed version will also be made.
C Brothers stands for "Chkiri brothers" as it is owned by Brahim, Hussein and Rachid Chkiri. The company has produced on average 10 direct-to-DVD films a year. These low-budget productions are usually educational films strictly for the local market.
In development, the company is working on its first English-language film. The untitled project, being written by Brahim Chkiri, is a thriller center around a night security guard that works at a haunted hotel. The C Brothers are looking for international co-production partners.
