Medina Express - Fes parcel service

Getting parcels sent from Fez has always been a bit of a problem for tourists who don't understand the system. Now help is on the way. Lumen Reports:

There’s a great new service from the Post Office called Medina Express. Now you can send all your purchases home safely and swiftly.

The pamphlet, available from some post offices in the Fes Medina, gives details of how it works (in French only). When you buy from participating Artisanat du Maroc shops, you don’t even have to take them to the post office: Medina Express offers a free service of delivery to the post office where they’ll be packed and sent for you.

You can even pay by bank card at their electronic paypoints. You get a tracking number and can log into www.poste.ma to check what’s happening to your parcel. Prices look good – an example is given of 5kg from Marrakech to Paris that costs Dh200, or if you’re in a hurry, you can pay Dh900 for express delivery.

So far there’s just one post office in the medina that offers this service, the Fes Karaouine branch near the Attarine Medersa. In Marrakech, it’s the branch at Bab Lakhmiss near the Ben Youssef Medersa.

There doesn’t seem to be a list of participating shops yet, but perhaps that’s on the way. Insh'allah
