Taking a break from Fes?

If you have been in Morocco for a while and you feel like a short break, then let us share a little secret with you. The name of the secret is Viking Paris and it is a boat on the Seine, just ten minutes from the centre of Paris.

The Paris Viking is over 40 feet long and simply the most luxurious hideaway you will find in Paris. The access is simple and there is even parking if you have a car. But best of all - it is private, quiet and a real delight.

The three bedrooms range in size from the one pictured above, which is huge, down to the small and simply cute, Captain's cabin, complete with a decent bath. The furnishings are superb and there is the added attraction of one of the best collections of great African art you will ever see outside a museum.

Cooking in the kitchen is made easy with all the latest appliances and the hostess is also a great cook and prepared us some of the best food we have had in a while. She also has a very good selection of fine wines.

Breakfast is served in the large kitchen (pictured above) and dinner on an extremely well set table complete with top cutlery and crockery!

In the lounge there is a massive circular fireplace for winter and a selection of English language DVDs - Wireless internet access is provided. In a word? Superb.

If you would like more information about making a booking on the Paris Viking - please email us at The View from Fez - fes.riad@gmail.com

This has set my spirits alive. I can't think of anything more wonderful than being surrounded by African art.
